An article published on The Epoch Times dated December 26, 2013 details a move made by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) that will tighten the leash on antibacterial soaps. It writes:
After more than 40 years of study, the U.S. government says it has found no evidence that common antibacterial soaps prevent the spread of germs, and regulators want the makers of Dawn, Dial, and other household soaps to prove that their products do not pose health risks to consumers.
Recent studies suggest triclosan and similar substances can interfere with hormone levels in lab animals and spur the growth of drug-resistant bacteria.
Under a proposed rule released last week, the agency will require manufacturers to prove that antibacterial soaps are safe and more effective than plain soap and water. Products that are not shown to be safe and effective by late 2016 would have to be reformulated, relabeled, or removed from the market.
The findings released by the federal agency encourages consumers to move away from soaps that are currently under questioning. Consumers who are confused with which soap to replace these soaps with can try all natural soap products and similar products that do not contain the chemicals that are causing these major producers trouble.
One reason to choose natural soap bars is the fact that these are made out of natural ingredients. Oils such as almond, grape seed, and coconut are usually used in the creation of these soaps. A lot of natural soap manufacturers also do not test their products on animals, which says more than enough about the safety of these products.
The existence of glycerin in natural soap products is another edge these soaps have over their antibacterial counterparts. Glycerin helps in the mitigation of several dermatological conditions like rashes, burns, and psoriasis. The lack of glycerin from antibacterial soap puts natural soap in a better position.
It must also be mentioned that these natural soaps can be made to look like works of art, which can complement the bathroom or kitchen of any household. Natural bath soaps and lotions are perfect for families who want function and style in their implements. Interested families can contact trusted shops like Sea Foam Trading for more details about the wonders of natural soaps.
